As a society we have just gotten faster. We want everything yesterday. We want to come home from work, pop that tv dinner into the microwave, nuke the hell out of it in 5 minutes or less, then eat.

REAL FOOD!!!
What happened to (like when I was growing up) that we had a home cooked meal. (and had to wash dishes-which I hated). Where has the smell of a nice pot roast with those little baby potatoes gone?

The dumps are filled with miles and miles of Styrofoam. I know what happened, people don't know how to cook anymore. Growing up if you couldn't cook (and you were a girl) that was unheard of.
Now, when a man asks his wife or woman what's for dinner-she pulls out some money and says, 'Yo Quiero Taco Bell!
Ha, you got this one right! Those were the good old days, when we were healthier and more community conscious!
ReplyDeletenow days you can't afford to eat healthy: large bag of white rice $10, small box of brown rice $8, Box of pasta .99, small box of wheat pasta $1.80.
Sad times we are living in...
Have a great weekend!
That "real food" looks delicious!!! My kids don't like fast food ... for now. I know schools tend to skip corners on the lunches, but they eat real food at home for breakfast & dinner.
ReplyDeleteI love to cook too but you're right about fast food being a faster way to satisfy the hunger... a little too often. I remember as a kid if I wanted to go to McDonald's I had to save my own money and then I had to beg mom to take me. It's not like they were on every corner back then.
ReplyDeleteAnd I LOVE that video! :-D
